To those of you who received the anonymous poison pen letter today,

I don't blame the people who sent out the mailer trying to smear Randy Bates with untruths.  I wouldn't sign that piece of garbage either.  This had to come from one of the opponents camps and since there is no other party candidates running, this came from so-called Republicans.  These people are not the kind of Republicans I want to associate with.  If I were so sure of the statements contained in the piece, and just knew they were true, I would not be afraid to sign my name to it.  These people are cowards dealing in untruths and hiding behind anonymity.  From the reaction I have received today, this is backfiring.  The true Republicans do not like mud-slinging and negative campaigning.  We abide by Ronald Reagan's eleventh commandment "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican."   Randy has run a positive campaign and stayed with the issues and concerns of the people of District 124.  His opponents have distorted facts, tried to malign his character and come out with mean, evil, and malicious rumor and innuendo.  Thank you Randy for not stooping to their level.  Here is a man we can count on to stay positive, address the issues of the constituents, and represent District 124 in the manner to which we have become accustomed with Catherine Ceips.  He has learned from the best and will go to Columbia standing up for us, not telling us, why things can't be done, but rather finding a way that things can be done.

My vote is going to Randy Bates and I hope all you true Ronald Reagan Republicans will join me.
